community.general.ohai – Returns inventory data from Ohai
Note
This plugin is part of the community.general collection (version 3.8.1).
You might already have this collection installed if you are using the ansible package. It is not included in ansible-core. To check whether it is installed, run ansible-galaxy collection list.
To install it, use: ansible-galaxy collection install community.general.
To use it in a playbook, specify: community.general.ohai.
Synopsis
- Similar to the community.general.facter module, this runs the Ohai discovery program (https://docs.chef.io/ohai.html) on the remote host and returns JSON inventory data. Ohai data is a bit more verbose and nested than facter.

The below requirements are needed on the host that executes this module.

# Retrieve (ohai) data from all Web servers and store in one-file per host ansible webservers -m ohai --tree=/tmp/ohaidata
